The new Biotech Training Facility (BTF) is a state-of-the-art training center where students can learn how to produce (bio) pharmaceuticals, under GMP and biosafety conditions, in a realistic environment. The cleanrooms in the BTF 2000m² (37000ft²) consist of gowning rooms, Class A to D grades. The facility is built in the heart of the Dutch Biotechnology close to the University of Leiden.
Lighthouse Benelux was selected to deliver a facility wide monitoring system for demonstrating compliance to GMP conditions. Despite the fact that no real market-products will be produced, the LMS Pharma system is an important part of students training. The system is equipped with a particle counter for a filling line and a particle counter for compressed gas monitoring. The system continuous monitors temperature, humidity and differential pressure. All rooms have a touchscreen display at all cleanroom doors.
The Biotech Training Facility has been funded with support from the European Regional Development Fund of the European Commission.
